Currently serving as the department chair of Sociology at Hunter College, Erica Chito Childs is a leading qualitative researcher on issues of race, gender and sexuality, particularly in the areas of multiracialism, families, media and popular culture. She is also currently involved in research in urban public schools and childcare options in New York City. She is a popular and engaging speaker and is frequently invited to lecture on multiracial issues in the United States, Britain, and South Africa. Her work has also been featured in various media outlets.
